The Centre was initially created with decree № 436 of the council of ministers from 14.10.1994 as a “Centre for qualification and raising the qualification in modern technologies in the vocational sector” for conducting training in the professions: book keeper, mechanic of CNC machines, computer design and computer data processing.
Later with decree № 255 of the council of ministers from 06.11.2001 the centre was transformed in Bulgarian state vocational school with German participation in Bulgarian-German Vocational Training Centre (BGCPO). Since 01.01.2002 BGCPO – Pazardjik is a part of the structure of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.
As a new and unique occurrence BGCPO – Pazardjik completes the system of the traditional vocational training in Bulgaria and puts a main accent on the practical orientation of the offered training. BGCPO – Pazardjik creates a modern type of specialists with vocational preparation that makes them successful at the labour market.
BGCPO – Pazardjik gives over 900 people yearly the opportunity to get a vocational training and obtain a qualification degree, to update their knowledge mainly in the fields: economic management and administration, informatics and technics or to acquire key competencies.
The number of the successful graduated so far is over 12000. Public support in its activities gets the BGCPO – Pazardjik from the Municipality Pazardjik, the Administration of the Districts Pazardjik and Plovdiv, the Regional economic development agency and business incubator in Pazardjik, the labour office in Pazardjik, the Vocational school for industrial technologies, SMEs and regional organizations. Among the national and international partners of BGCPO – Pazardjik are the Employment Agency, the National agency for vocational education and training, the International labour organization, the Human resources development centre, the Bulgarian Chamber of commerce and industry, the German-Bulgarian Chamber of industry and commerce, the International cooperation enterprise for sustainable development – GTZ, the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB), Senior Experts Service (SES) and other.
The control over the activities of BGCPO – Pazardjik exercises the Bulgarian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.
BGCPO – Pazardjik is recognized for its international prestige. BGCPO collaborates with over 30 foreign organizations in the framework of different international projects. Some of our international partners are: Federal Association of the adult education centres in Lower Saxony, GOPA Consultants, Carl Duisberg Association, European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training CEDEFOP, the German-Romanian foundations for vocational training and development, European Association for vocational and social education r.s.(EBG) – Germany, ESTA – Bildungswerk-Germany and many others.
The part of the trained employed people and company employees for the period 2002 – 2008 is about 38,9 % and remains steady during the years. Many companies take advantage of the training services of BGCPO – Pazardjik in order to train their employees. Our biggest customer for staff trainings in the last year was “Mondi Stamboliiski” in Stamboliiski. Our reference list includes also companies like „Liebherr Hausgeräte Marica“ Plovdiv, Newspaper group Bulgaria, M-tel Sofia, „ZZM-Metalik“ plc. Pazardjik, „Palfinger Bulgariа“ Ltd. - Cherven bryag, „Hebrosgas“ Pazardjik, „Optics“ – Panagyrishte etc.
The analysis of the age profile shows that the course participants in BGCPO are between 16 and 62.
